Daneshill Pupils Help Launch Logo Campaign

Logo Launch

We are pleased to announce that Charlie’s Day Unit (CDU) has been chosen as one of the School’s official charities for the remainder of the academic year.

Based at the Basingstoke and North Hampshire hospital, CDU is a medical assessment unit for local children enabling them to be seen and treated promptly. This busy unit, which opened in 1999, now sees around 7,000 patients a year.

Children attend with a whole variety of medical needs. Many are referred by their GP or by the Emergency department for further care; while those who have a chronic condition can self refer which provides reassurance and support.

CDU is now looking to expand this important children’s care area to ensure that they can provide appropriate waiting and treatment areas for teenagers, a new quiet room for confidential discussions and suitable areas for children requiring regular checks during chemotherapy.

The fundraising project is looking to raise around £400,000 for these new facilities.

To launch the campaign, and to give it an identity, CDU have turned to children in north Hampshire to design a logo. The winning design will be used on campaign leaflets, posters, in newspapers and online.

To recognise our support for the campaign pupils at Daneshill were proud to help launch the initiative in this week’s Basingstoke Gazette. Please click on the link to download the news article.
