Daneshill Gymnasts Bring Home The Medals
On Sunday 13th December, members of the yr 2-5 gym squad took part in the Bracknell Open Gymnastics Championships. For many, this was their first gymnastics competition and they had trained hard all term towards it. Unlike team events, each child performs on their own in front of judges, and an audience. They have one chance to perform their sequence.
As you can see from the success of results below, we picked up a medal in each category and on all apparatus. I am very proud of all the children whom participated in the competition. The standard of gymnastics within the school and particularly amongst the squad is of a very high standard and these results are a reflection of their commitment and hard work.
I would like to congratulate Camilla Cooper for a ‘clean sweep’, and taking gold on all three apparatus. I would also like to congratulate Anna Swart for her outstanding performance in training and at the competition. Having joined the school only in September her progress has been incredible.
