After Day 1 in Heatree, Mrs. Barnes captures the mood in camp:

‘A fantastic day - beautiful, clear blue sky but a bit chilly this morning.  Followed the River Lemon from Hay Tor to Newton Abbott, where it joins the River Teign, then we had ice creams on the beach at Teignmouth.  The children measured the width, depth and flow rate of the river.  A few wet feet but all making the most of the great opportunity’.
