Biathlon Success
On Sunday, twenty two Daneshill pupils headed to Mountbatten Leisure Centre in Portsmouth for the Hampshire Schools qualifying Biathlon. The conditions were testing and all of our boys and girls competed as best they could and can be proud of their achievements.
Of particular note, however, were Anna Swart who finished 4th overall in the U.10 girls category. Her performance actually meant she finished the 8th best in the whole of the South of England, which is an incredible accomplishment. Roger Bleakley also put in a fine performance and won his run. He finished 9th in the whole of the South of England and goes onto the next stage of qualifying for the Nationals with Anna. Huge congratulations to both of you!
From a team perspective, the U.10 girls finished 3rd overall and our B team finished 6th. Both the U.11 boy and girl team finished 4th in their competitions too.
Well done to all of the Daneshill pupils who took part and many thanks to the parents for supporting the event.
