Introduction
Daneshill School is an IAPS co-educational preparatory school set in a beautiful location in rural Hampshire for children aged between 2½ to 13 years.

Headmaster's Welcome
Daneshill is very much a family school and we strive to preserve that ethos whilst providing an excellent education for all our pupils.
School Ethos
Daneshill School has a very happy atmosphere that can be attributed to the sensitive and sensible way in which the staff teach the children. Academic achievement is high.
History of Daneshill
Daneshill was originally founded in 1950 under the name St. Salvadors. It is now located at Bylands on the Duke of Wellington's Estate in a beautiful rural setting close to the border between Hampshire and Berkshire

Curriculum
Learning Support
Qualified teachers, who are specialists at helping to unlock a child's potential, provide effective learning support in any areas of weakness.
Scholarships
Subjects
Our broad based curriculum allows for a good balance between formal and informal learning. It reflects all the new techniques and opportunities combined with the traditionally proven methods based upon a sound grounding in the three R's.
Art
Each art project has been specially designed by working artists to inspire and excite the children.
Design & Technology
Drama
By taking part in drama, children gain enormous self-confidence as well as developing the ability to co-operate and work together in a group.
English
Every English lesson should provide pupils with opportunities to expand or enhance their linguistic skills.
French
French is taught exclusively by a fully qualified, specialist teacher in a designated classroom.
Geography
We aim to foster and develop a real sense of awe and wonder about the world in which we live
History
We aim to to encourage pupils to develop a curiosity in events of the past and an appreciation of human achievements and aspirations
ICT
We aspire for our children to confidently and independently use and apply information technology skills to support and extend their learning
Latin
The Latin syllabus is based on the requirements for the 13+ Common Entrance Exam and senior school scholarship exams,
Maths
We work hard to promote enjoyment and interest in learning with varied activities and practical sessions.
Music
Music plays a significant part in our balanced curriculum as we feel it contributes positively to a child's social development
PE
The main aim for the PE department is to develop good quality performance whilst enabling each pupil to become independently active.
Religious Education
Daneshill recognises that all our pupils are capable of developing spiritually whether or not they have a religious belief
Science
Science is taught throughout the school, but it takes on a clearer identity in a child’s mind as they move up through it

Daneshill School offers a range of clubs to complement the academic curriculum.
Adventure & Leadership Programme
Extra-curricular activities play an important part of Daneshill's 13+ curriculum. Our dynamic Adventure & Leadership programme is designed to challenge pupils outside of the classroom.

Nursery
The nursery takes children from approximately 2 and a half years old until the summer before they join reception at the age of 4 years old
Pre-Preparatory
From the ages of 4 to 7 years old pupils are based in the Pre-Preparatory department
Preparatory
At the age of 7 years old pupils progress to the Preparatory School, which comprises of years 3 to 8
Pastoral Care
Pastoral care is an essential part of our school ethos and all members of staff play an active part in our pupils' wellbeing.
