Copenhagen

The start of the Autumn Term 2022 saw the opening of the new dining and classroom building. The pupils and staff were excited to use the six new classrooms, new kitchen, spacious dining room and changing rooms. The significant project has prioritised a fundamental rationalisation and improvement of the whole site and everyone is feeling its transformational effects.

The new building is called Copenhagen after the Duke of Wellington’s horse, which he most famously rode at the Battle of Waterloo. He acquired a fine reputation as the Great Duke’s charger and was remarkably calm under fire. Copenhagen is a huge part of The Wellington Family history and he is buried under an Oak Tree at Stratfield Saye House.

Copenhagen sits comfortably within its surroundings at Daneshill. It is eco-friendly, technologically advanced and has an indoor/outdoor feel with huge bi-fold doors looking over the grounds.
